Putting on a fun cocktail party is easier than you may think. You just have to have food, drinks, and friends to join in. Here are a few things to consider before you set your plans.
This type of party typically lasts between two to three hours. It has a different feel to it than having a regular party. It is a little more formal too.
The first thing to consider is how much ice you will need during the party. You will need ice for the drinks as well as for drinks to be kept cool in. Figure on having 1 lb of ice per person.
You can put on a cocktail party with just providing beer and wine, but typically you will have a larger variety of drink choices. Consider the different types of glasses you should have on hand. You will not only need beer and wine glasses, but straight sided highball glasses for tall drinks, tumblers for spirits and juices, and martini glasses. You could also consider having margarita glasses. Plan to have twice as many glasses as you will have guests.
Stock your bar in the following manner: Wine-Have 1 bottle for every two wine drinkers. Beer-Have 1 six pack for every two beer drinkers. Get a couple of different liquors which may be used to mix a variety of cocktails. These are some to consider: vodka, rum, gin, scotch, bourbon, whiskey, or tequila. Also, make sure you have other liquids to use as mixers such as orange juice, sodas, and tonics, as well as garnishes such as olives, lemons, and celery.
The next step is to prepare the menu you will be serving at the cocktail party. I would recommend sticking to light finger foods. Keep it simple! Try to offer a variety such as meat, veggies, hot, cold, and sweet. Estimate six bites per person, but have extras just in case. It is definitely better to have too much, than not enough!
You might consider serving coffee, tea, or soft drinks toward the end of the cocktail party. Be a responsible host, and make sure you have options lined up for those who are not able to drive. This might even include having local taxi service information available for your guests.

If you are a bride to be you might be trying to find something unique to give to the special women who will be in your wedding, and sharing that special day with you. The is nothing more special than having something painted to fit each person. An affordable way to accomplish this is to purchase custom painted glassware.
It is very easy to do. You can go with all of the same glassware, or determine each person’s favorite drink and have that kind of glass painted. Let the artist know the theme you wish to see for each person. They definitely do not all have to be the same. It is actually nicer if they fit each girl’s personality and are different.
This would be a nice gift by itself or just a little something extra. This could even be a fun gift to give the girls the night of your bachelorette party. They could enjoy the evening drinking from their own special glass. If you want to save this gift for each person to drink from at your wedding reception, that would be perfect as well. It’s really up to you.

I have just added 20 ounce White Wine Glasses to my line of hand painted glassware. These glasses are painted with a Sunflower Theme. You are not limited to this design, on this style of glass. Feel free to request any of my designs, or a custom one may be created just for you!
These glasses are lovely pieces to have if you entertain a lot. Just imagine being able to serve your friends and family with these beautiful pieces. They almost seem too pretty to use, but do not let that stop you. They are durable and meant to be used and not sat out for display.
You can make these a set and include painted dinner and dessert plates to match! What fun these will make your next gathering or dinner party. Impress your friends with only the best.

I have recently completed a new design for my glassware. This is a Full Daisy Design. The design is painted on a 20 ounce wine glass and matching dessert size plates. This design may be painted on any of my glassware.
Also, if you would like to have glasses with matching plates in a different design, that can be arranged. You are not limited to what you see on my site. I love custom orders and will work with you to create a design to compliment your needs.

Choosing the right paint for your project is very important. It is amazing how many different characteristics there are for paint. It can vary from the type of container they are found in, such as tubes, glass jars, or plastic bottles. After you select the desired containers, you will then have to understand the different properties each color will have as well. You probably did not realize so much thought would be involved.
The behaviors may vary greatly from one brand to the next even. Often it will be necessary for you to try several products, before you narrow it down to the one that works best for you. If you are an artist who deals with several different types of surfaces, you may find the need to switch around to different paints. The paint you choose will depend greatly on the project and what it will be used for. Along with using different paints you may find the same technique does not work well with each type of paint. You will have to be versatile in your techniques in order to create your pieces and obtain the desired look you are going for.
Some paints will cover better than others. Some will be more opaque, while others will be transparent. In order to learn your paint behaviors you may want to start off by creating some color swatches. This will allow you to experiment a little before placing the paint on your project.
Another concern you may have is your colors fading. When you are searching for your paint, pay close attention to the rating for this on the packaging. If it is rated “excellent”, this means it will hold it’s color for a long time and is durable. If the rating is “moderate”, you will experience some fading, but will not be noticeable early on. If the rating is “fugitive”, there will be a lot of fading. The ultraviolet rays from sunlight are the primary cause for fading.
Another property to consider is the toxicity of the paint. Often high quality paint will offer colors that are toxic. Some of the more vivid colors tend to be more toxic. These seem to be the cadmium pigments and some blues. Read the labels on your paint before using them. Be cautions also if you intend to spray the paint. There are paints that should not be used for spraying. If you are painting an item for a child, use non-toxic brands of paint.
While on your search for the desired paint, make sure you read the labels, and follow the directions on how to use the paint. This is very important. It not only may have a great affect on your project, but your health as well.

You can be as creative as you want with this project. Hearts of course are a nice design to include. Words relating to love are also nice to be added to your pieces. If you are not able to do freehand designs, polka dots with different colors and sizes can really make a glass interesting. I cannot stress enough that you do not have to be an artist to be able to paint on glasses. It is really up to you how creative you get. Simple designs often are much nicer than going over the top with too much color and interest.
Painting your own Valentine’s gifts is really special and can show someone truly how much they mean to you. A gift from your heart is worth so much more than an expensive store bought gift. Give the special people in your life something with true meaning that can last a lifetime!

There are a variety of different types of brushes to choose from when you are working on your painting projects. Even within the One Stroke family, there are different brushes to be used based on the surface you are painting on. The differences are in the bristles and may vary from hard to soft bristles. They are distinguished by the different colored handles and the fabric brushes even have a green stripe on the tip of the bristles.
The brushes for Glass and Ceramics are soft. This allows them to hold the paint nicely in the brush, while moving smoothly over the slick surface. They also keep the brush strokes from being as noticeable as they might be with a regular brush.
The fabric brush bristles are harder and hold up well while painting on fabric. This is a little trickier since the paint does not flow as easily on this type of surface. The One Stroke Fabric brushes will assist you in creating a beautiful final project that you will be proud to wear.
It does not matter if you are painting on glass or fabric, the brushes in this line hold up very well to frequent use. They rarely lose their bristles. What you may find after several uses is the bristles losing their shape. If you take care of them properly and reshape them after using, you will extend their life. They are reasonably priced which makes them practical to use on your decorative painting projects.

· Filed under hand painted specialty glasses ·Tagged hand painted glasses, iced tea glasses, non-alcoholic glasses, water glasses, wedding reception glasses, wedding table glasses, wine glasses
These glasses are beautiful and would look lovely on your wedding reception tables. They can be painted to compliment the colors and theme of your wedding. After the party is over they make great wedding favors for your guests to take home.
If you are feeling up to the challenge you can keep the cost down by painting the glasses yourself. This will make them even more cost effective in the end. This is something nice your guests will be able to use even for years to come.
You can keep the design simple and it will still be a stunning piece for your tables. A matching centerpiece would really complete your tables. This is a nice idea for those who are not big drinkers or maybe you have considered not even having alcoholic drinks at your reception. They are nice to drink iced tea or water from.
You can bake these glasses to cure the paint. They are dishwasher safe if placed on the top rack. You may want to hand wash to preserve the design for a longer length of use. That is purely up to you.

Often champagne glasses are used for the toast, however it is your wedding and you decide what type of glasses will be used. You may want to serve something else for this event. You have a variety of glasses to choose from including martini, margarita, pilsner, or even shot glasses. That would be unique!
The hand painted glasses could be used just by the bride and groom, extended to the wedding party including the parents, or given to everyone as a wedding favor. This may depend on your budget. The glasses would make a great keepsake to remember your wedding day for years to come.
Your options will be open if you plan to have hand painted glasses. You can go with the same design for everyone or plan something special for each person. The flowers and their colors are often what bride’s will choose. This is a nice way to remember the flowers you carried down the aisle and the colors you selected for your wedding. They could also compliment the centerpieces on each table at your reception.
The sky is the limit. Allow yourself plenty of time if you are painting these yourself. That will give you the time you need to plan the designs, practice, and then do the final painting. If all else fails, hire the professional!

The sky is the limit with the designs that can be painted on wines glasses and other party glassware. Whether you are looking for something simple like a floral design or to have a cute friend painted on a special glass, they are perfect for these type of designs. Just let your imagination flow and see where you end up. Have fun along the way.
You do not have to know exactly what image you are going to paint when you begin. It is actually a lot of fun to start with an idea and continue to build on it as you go along. You might be surprised how easy it is to come up with ideas as you work. It seems like you just know by seeing it what feels right. You can always wash it off and start over if you are not happy with the finished product. This makes painting on glass a great way to learn how to paint. It is easy to fix a mistake and is not costly, which makes it even better!
If you are not a freehand painter you can select from copyright free clip artto use as your design. If you decide to go this route, you may either use transfer carbon to place the design on outside of your glass, or tape the image on the inside of the glass and paint from the picture. If you use the carbon it is possible you will see the lines from the inside of the glass. If all else fails, it is easy to paint on glass using swirls, squiggles, and polka dots in multi-colors. Let the fun begin!
