Beaded and Wired Serving Platter and Spoon for Special Events

Nothing can make a special event or gathering stand out moore than having beautiful serving platters and serving spoons to match. You can have these pieces for your next party. They are affordable and are easy to get.

When you begin to plan for a wedding reception, special event, or even a dinner party what do you consider? Of course one of the first areas you focus on is the menu. What type of food are you going to serve? Will it be fingers foods, desserts only, or a full course meal?

Once you have made the decision on the menu, the next area you focus on are the plates, napkins, silverware, servings plates and platters, serving utensils, and glassware you will be using at the event. It is important to impress your guests and make the event a memorable one. Invision all of these items matching or coordinating with each other. You do not want your serving ware to be something that you picked up at the store or something everyone else has.

A great way to ensure this does not happen is to have your items customed beaded and painted for you. You have the freedom to select the colors and designs of your choice. You will not have to spend a fortune to do this either. It is very affordable for most.

Your party will be the talk for a long time. It will make you feel good knowing that you put on such a wonderful party, one that will make you the envy of your family and friends!

What is the technique to wrapping beads around serving utensils, making it tight. Mine seems to be too loose. Thank you

I don’t know if it is just more practice. I tuck the one end and start wrapping around it and when I finish I tuck that end in and wrap it are the wire. I just pull had each time I go around. I typically will go around a few times tightly, add a few beads and then go around a few more times tightly, before adding more beads. I repeat these steps until I reach them point where I want to end. I don’t know if that helps make it tighter by doing it that way.

By some cheap wire and keep practicing until you get better at it and feel more comfortable with it. Practice makes perfect you know!!!

What glue do you use to glue the wire and beads onto the plates. I have been using Bond 527 and it sticks for the most part, but I feel like there has got to be a more secure glue that I can feel more comfortable with it staying… kinda embarrassing to give as a gift if it comes apart… 🙂

I use E-6000 Glue. You can buy that online or at Joanne Fabrics.

Hi, I am new to beading but I am hooked! I love it and it makes everything so pretty. Can you please tell me what gauge wire you use for the plates and utensils? Also, do you have any other ideas for beading other than making jewlery? I love making home decore, cutsie little things. If someone tells me what to do I can do it, but I am not crafty enough to think of really creative things on my own. Thanks so much!

Metal bookmarks are sold. They have a way to add beads to them so the beads will hang out of the book, while the metal part holds the page. You can add them to scarves, lampshades, ceiling fan pulls, just to name a few. I used either 20 or 22 gauge mainly.

I am certain there are patterns online for ideas of other things to bead. These are just a few things that come to mind off hand.
